Our owner started dancing at the age of nine and has worked in various shows around the world for over thirty years. She has been sewing since the age of ten and started doing costumes about the same time she became a professional dancer at the age of 18. During her career she has also worked as a choreographer, assistant to choreographer, and head of wardrobe for various production companies. She is a self taught seamstress who understands what a dancer needs in a costume. She has been making competition dancewear, skate wear, and ballroom dancewear exclusively for ten plus years.
From working both sides of the costume industry (buying and making) she understands all the headaches that go along with each. Custom costumes are expensive, to make and buy. Both are understandable. With this web site, she hopes to bring down the cost of a custom costume by making the costume itself easier to produce. Believe me when I tell you it's not as simple as it may sound. She's been working on this for well over two year. The original idea came about more then ten years ago. She was tinkering with it for a few years before she had enough of the kinks worked out to go head first into it about two years ago.
